the wedding part 2
We decided to get our pictures done before the ceremony .. with dusk coming so early in the winter and so many guests coming in from out of town we thought it best to get our pics done without our guests having to wait around twittering their thumbs and as it turns out in the beautiful sunshine :) I think it actually helped to calm nerves and it didn't lesson the uh hah moment of me walking down the aisle to my handsome groom! nor him for me.
I met Paul's friends shortly after we were engaged... all at once :0) in the world of Paul his family and friends seem to travel and congregate in packs and so it was a one shot deal meeting his friends and their families. I have to say I instantly liked his friends and their families... like instantly. His friends really are a reflection of him and are amazingly nice people who accepted me with open hearts. I know as the years unfold and I get to know them more that they will become my friends as well. You could see in their faces and their demeanor's how truly happy they were for their friend. I know it meant so much to him to have his close friends and brother stand with him!
Waiting for the ceremony to start I had time to sit a bit, relax and ponder this amazing day. My sister Shash and her daughter were there... my other sister Tam was popping in and out.. and my Deener and daughters were there along with Xangelle taking pictures, saying calm things in her calm way.... I was surrounded by the closest females I have in my life. They all are like pillars to me and to have them there... was priceless. My mom was there as well and well if you know me and know how close my mom and I are then you will know how much that means to me. I couldn't imagine a greater group of women to be surrounded with...and I have to say that Paul's family is full of amazing women as well. I have come to truly love them. I feel truly loved by them as well and the love they have for Paul speaks volumes of who he is... how many nieces do you know fly in from Italy to attend their uncle's wedding?! this man is very loved by his family, he is loved by me and my girls and very quickly capturing the heart of my other family who is getting to know him.
This man he loves me.... he accepts me... he doesn't want to change me, he doesn't want to pull me in all sorts of directions... he just loves me. He waited to find real love all these years and he found me and that makes me ... the most blessed woman alive.
I have only known this man for a little over 7 months! and yet I feel like I have known him my entire life. I mean what I say when I say I have never felt more ME when I am with him. He really does blow me away with his heart, his kindness, his love for God, his love for my girls and for me. I truly am so very blessed and I am so not sick of saying that!
The reception was at my families restaurant... the perfect venue for a casual relaxed lets just have a great time together kind of reception. We didn't want a head table where we would sit removed from our guests... although the different rooms in the restaurant proved a bit of a challenge to visit everybody as effectively as we wanted.
We ate our favorite foods and then we did what I love to do... we danced :) my family loves to dance and apparently so does his! we had a blast dancing together and just kicking back having a great time. I loved dancing with all of his nieces and had an absolute ball.
