Good... no GREAT news and some advice needed

Yesterday J went for a Dr appt with his Neurologist in Vancouver..... GREAT NEWS!!! the Dr said she has never seen J so strong... not in 1 year!! she said that she is pretty sure J is heading for 100% recovery... not 80 not even 99 she said 100%.... she has ordered 3 months of IVIG and said after that she is hoping that the CIDP will be sent to bed... I am thinking the grave!! so we are really excited and feel so hopeful. He is going to be weened off the prednazone in the next couple of weeks which will help his shaking/tremor and that will be awesome too. You couldn't get a better report!!

So thank you for all your prayers!! our family sure has been through a lot but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel here!

so now a plea for some advice...... what would you do if.... you could move to a place where your work situation would be more secure, stable and have more of a future promise.... and family was there...... BUT.... the housing market was out of your range and in the physical sense there is no way you can buy a house in the area close to your new great work place? maybe you could go about 20 + minutes out.... MAYBE... and then you would be buying something very old and quite probably too small for a family of 6, with all sorts of landscaping equip that needs to be stored. OR.... stay where you have no idea the stability of your job future.... no promise or possibility of any ownership.... one of you doesn't like their job..the other doesn't have a job yet and is unsure what to do... jobs in general pay less..... BUT.... you have a 36oo sq foot house, 4.5 acres of treed beautiful property.... a great school, great community and love the pace and lifestyle.....

so what would you do????

It is so great that J is getting better, congratulations! God is Good!!!
As for advice, I would say search God's direction and don't make a decision soley based on money. It is definetely a hard decision, one that you and J should be united in. Hope that helps a bit. :-)

I hear you about the housing market issues... Greg has been in Red Deer now since September 23. The job stability there is much better for him in RD compared to PG. This transition time is hard, but we decided to take the leap and go. A bigger mortgage, but much better job prospects for both of us. And more accessible for me to visit my family in Nova Scotia. You two have a beautiful peice of property in a nice community, but unless things pull through with the job issues .. yes, quite a dilemma! Your decision will come...it always does with time.

Even with the unkowns, are you happy there? Are you happy in your home? Are your kids happy in their school? Are you happy with the slower pace? Don't leave just because of unknown job situations. God will provide those wherever you are.

What great news about John!!

I fear that I have no good advice - just listen to the Lord and do it together!

God is bigger than a mortgage or the housing market. If He wanted you to move to West Van... HE would provide a way.

All He asks is that we don't leap before He says to move. In life we tend to write a pro and con list for everything and we always have 'our' time line that we want it done in... I think God giggles a bit with our smallness. Remember Evan Almighty? Where Evan says but I have goals/dreams... God laughs and says He has different plans?!

Everyone quotes, He gives us the desires of our hearts, as justification for doing what they want when they want to do it. Was God the author of that desire or did flesh take over or was it God's desire but not for right now this minute? We as humans get the timing wrong probably 90% of the time. Waiting upon the Lord isn't exactly the most convenient...

I know you're not asking anyone to tell you what to do but if I may, as your older sister... hahaha don't shout me down now... for me - it goes back to, where is your church family? I believe with all my heart that when we are devoted to a community where we are being fed and growing and where we have actual spiritual parents... that is where God wants us to be. For me it's Kingdom community first and then the rest falls into place.

First off - what a blessing. I'm so very glad J is doing so well. God is so good. AMEN!!!

The only advice I would give is this...seek God. If He is calling you to move, He will provide for what He's asking...it may not always be in ways we expect...sometimes it's greater. If you are in His will, then you are in the perfect place. I know you can hear Him speak. I will pray that the Lord would guide you and J and give you wisdom as to stay or go. May you have peace with whatever the outcome is.

Great news about J. Prayers do work.
As for the other just put it in God's hand like you have everything else...He'll give you the answer. He always provides what we need....
