dum dum dum DUM

Boy this balancing act of full time work and home and family is hard to do! I really should be trying to sleep right about now! I am trying to catch up on all my bloggin friends! I feel so out of touch!

I do like my job, I really do. The only thing I am having a really hard time....well besides the actual getting up in the morning part NOT A MORNING PERSON!!! is the second hand smoke! We have a pub in the hotel....which most hotels do and man the smoke! so today I requested an air purifier or something as I feel so congested and today my eyes started watering and I was sneezing like crazy. I always thought I was allergic and I have to be otherwise why the strong reactions? I also have been having headaches but was unsure if that was just a side effect of the early morning torture?!

The job itself is not difficult for me as it is so similar to what I did before....working for a property management company. I like the work and like the people. My GM is an odd sort of duck but nice enough. The rest of the staff for the most part are nice and friendly too. They all seem happy to be there and that is always a good sign. No one is perfect and there is always room for complaints but nothing out of the ordinary. My training will be complete the end of next month, then I am on my own! dum dum dum DUM....dum dum dum DUM...sorry.... I usually hear music in my head. Speaking of music the radio is tuned in at work to a rock station, harder rock always being one of my least favorite types of music and I wondered if that was contributing to the headaches but nope now I bop around to it and am surprised how many songs I do know. Funny how fast you get used to things, made me wonder how much we get used too without any idea! but nope not going to get all deep with you now....don't have the energy for it!

ok well have a great Thursday everyone....this working girl needs to go make the bed then get ready for bed then get my clothes out for tomorrow....then try really really hard to tell my brain to SHUT UP! oh thanks for the advice on T pm....does it make you groggy in the morning?? can't have groggy...mornings are too tough for me as it is!

Hi la la, I was going to suggest Tylenol PM yesterday when I read your post and then forgot. IT looks like someone did. I would suggest taking it about 1 1/2 hours before you plan on going to bed. Also make sure that you plan to sleep at least 8 hours. If you take it late and then wake up early you will feel groggy in the am. YOu might have to experiment a few nights to see what works for you. ALso, I am going to start sending out Good Mail. Please email me your home address if your willing to get good mail on occasion. wiljen109 at aol dot com

UGH! second hand smoke is so horrible. I hope they can find a solution to that for you gals at the front desk. I used to get up at 4am to make the bus at 6 and be at work for 7am! Sometimes I was on the night shifts until 11pm, I used to be groggy all the time. I dreaded audit shifts..hope you don't ever have to do that! Good luck with it all - sounds like fun!

I'm glad the new job is going well. I'm not a morning person either. It's tough being a night owl in a 9-to-5 world, I found.

I love the new spring look...very cute!

I have a very hard time being around cigarette smoke! It makes me sneezy, wheezy and headachy. Hopefully an air purifier will help!

T pm makes me extremely groggy!

The whole sleeping thing is a hard one to get used to and it can be done. Begin by lessoning your activities and the things that stimulate your thinking in the evenings...when you get home, and after you greet everyone, go to your room to change, and begin winding down there..lay on the bed for at least 5 - 10 minutes of quiet time and pray or sing to clear off the day...what works for me is I don't watch "mindless" TV. there are 3 shows that I like to watch and none are after 9, so on the nights I watch, the TV is off by then, so I have from 9 till bedtime (10 - 10:30) to wind down some more.. usually I'll read in the tub, and when I go to bed, I read the Word and then turn off the light and pray till I fall asleep. I found that blogging, or watching TV or movies until just before bed just kept me awake. It's a little harder for me on Abba and home group night because I've been in stimulating conversation so on those nights I get to sleep a little later. Unfortunately now that you're working a routine is about the only thing that will keep things flowing..and some things you enjoy everynight, like watching movies etc may have to be saved for special movies nights (for me, that's Friday night)

Goodness, my bloglines aren't working again! I thought you hadn't been posting because you were so busy with work and here I have missed several days. Grrrr.....

T PM does not make me groggy, if I only take one about 1/2 hour before I go to bed and make sure I've got about 7-8 hours of sleeptime ahead of me. I usually wake up feeling pretty good.
