Christmas Tree Treasures

Seeds from my garden aka Morning Glory is doing this Christmas Tree Treasures today. You share some of your favortite decorations and memories behind them. Go over to her site link yourself up and participate!
My first one is my tree toper, the angel sitting on the piano! the tree is kind of tall for this room so she doesn't quite fit. I will be getting a real tree this weekend and short enough so she can sit up there. I love angels. She reminds me that we are never alone and we are surrounded by so many of these messengers from the Lord.
I love this decoration simply because my sister Shash made it for me. I love my sister a lot and I miss her and having Christmas together. I miss having our kids have Christmas together too, something that we dreamed of when we were little. She lives in Ontario and I live in BC, kind of hard to do when you both have 4 kids each. Love you shashy.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE precious moments.....always have...always will. I have a few ornaments that hang on the tree that are pm as well. I just get such a sense of well being looking at them and now I have a daughter who to me anyways, kind of looks like a precious moment figurine. I also love this set cuz my kids can play with it and I don't have to worry about them breaking it...however they have lost a sheep a shephard and the star!!!
I bought this when I was 19 and just pregnant with Morgan. I bought it at the Christmas Store in Banff Alberta. My friend Gerda came over to Canada from Belgium to visit me and I took her to Banff. She was my roommate from YWAM (Kenya), 2 years prior. It brings me all sorts of memories from that time, not all good, but overall I see that Jesus was with me, He died for me, He loves me and He is the reason for the season and I love Him.

*if you are a beta blogger, I am having a hard time leaving comments on them, sorry! but I am still visiting!

That Precious Moments nativity scene is precious!! Isn't this fun?? I'm really enjoying the tour. I'm having a hard time concentrating on homeschooling today. I keep going back to my Mom's site to see who's posted their link!

Merry Christmas!

Oh - I hope you and Shash get to see each other soon. I know how hard it was when Sto Sto and I were apart for so many years.

Such beautiful decorations!!

What beautiful ornaments, Lala. Your angel tree topper is beautiful. I have an angel tree topper, too. I wouldn't think of putting anything on top of our tree.

I hate it that you and your sister dreamed of your children being together and now you're too far apart. That broke my heart.

Your special ornaments are wonderful.

Adorable ornaments! Loved your sweet sentimental story about your sister Sasha and your dreams. You may be miles apart but it is apparent you are very close in heart!

Love the cute little Precious Moments Nativity scene! :)

See once upon a time I was a crafty person!! Don't tell my kids... until I organize my time better and we can do stuff like this together.

I miss you too. I never dreamed I'd be so far away from you either! Hugs and Kisses over and over again.

Thank you so much for sharing your special ornaments with us...I so enjoyed seeing them and reading the story behind them! A Christmas tree holds so many wonderful memories!! I know how you feel about your sister being so far away...I'm in Ontario but my two older brothers are in BC...so we're the same distance away from our siblings!! Merry Christmas to you and yours:-)

Most of the ornaments on our tree remind us of special times together. This year our eldest has taken all of her ornaments save one which I told her she could not take, to put on her own tree. She got married this year.

You are right, it is all about the One who loves us and died for us. Merry Christmas...

BTW...I had the same problem with commenting for many days!

I love your ornaments and I enjoyed reading the sentiments about them.

I know how you feel, being away from your sister. I'm in upstate NY and my sister is in Oregon.

Thank you for sharing your special treasures! :)

Those are great! The one thing lacking from my collection is an olive wood nativity set from Jerusalem.

I love the stories - my sister and I are so fortunate to live across town from each other and attend the same church, and sing in choir together. But we don't see each other enough outside of that. Ridiculous! But our kids have such wonderful memories of our Christmases together when they were young - and summer times of fun. What a blessing.

I finally got my ornaments up, after doing a double birthday tribute on Friday for Kristen and my DIL.

I forgot to comment on one of your statements - about being in Kenya. My DIL is Kenyan, and I just blogged about her birthday and my daughter's being the same day - done on the 8th. She has a blog as well, which I highlight in the birthday story.
