Happy Anniversary to our parents

Yesterday was my parents 35th wedding anniversary! who would have thought that a couple that met in Gas Town (Vancouver) 35 years ago would marry 6 weeks after that day and go on for 35 years???? I don't think they did all the time!! My mom was married before to her high school sweet heart cept it turned out after they got married he wasn't so sweet and was an alcoholic, she left him with 2 very small girls in tow. She met my dad in 72 and he swept her off her feet, married her and soon after adopted the girls, Shash and I followed in the next couple of years. They had a rocky first several years but with God's Grace, healing took place and they are such an amazing example of God's love and what happens when you put Him first in your lives. They are amazing people let alone parents and we love them very much.
Happy 35th Anniversary mom and dad! Today is J's parents 24th wedding anniversary. They already knew each other before they started dating when J was about7 I think. My mother in law is such a strong woman and made the wise choice to leave J's dad with his 2 little sisters when they were all quite young. She was a single working mom for many years and I have nothing but admiration and respect for her. She gave the kids a stable environment and protected them and loved them like 2 parents would have. Then when she married my father in law they became a blended family as his wife had passed away years earlier and they had a son. They loved each others children unconditionally and J says dad has always been there for them, in fact he goes beyond the call of duty. Neither of J's sisters even batted an eye about who to walk them down the aisle at their weddings....it was dad. His strength and integrity is awe inspiring and they also are such a Godly example of what marriage is. They are amazing people and we love them very much.
Happy 24th Anniversary!!
We are blessed to both have such awesome parents!

Great pictures and stories! We do have a redeeming God, who can take junk and turn it into beauty.

We're celebrating our 34th this December and hope to do something really special next year for our 60th and 65th birthdays and 35th anniversary. How could we possibly be this old??!!

You're so much nicer than I. My folks' 40th is coming up this summer and I'm selfishly trying to score us all a "celebratory" trip to a beach-side resort. :-)

Mom and Dad met and married in 8 weeks, they moved in with each other after 2 weeks.

When they saw each other in Gastown Mom said she had tunnel vision and felt like their bodies were coming together like you see in the movies when two people focus on each other. They knew instantly. That's pretty cool! They are the most affectionate people I know. On the cruise, they were all over each other!!! I told them to go to their room. Mom was all giggly and everything. That's a pretty awesome thing to say after 35 years of marriage - 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild!!

Whoot Whoot to Ma and Pa
