Happy Birthday to Shash

It's my sister's Shash's birthday today! wow 34!!! where did the time go? you getting so old!! hahaha sorry I know I am only 21 months behind you!!!

She lives practically on the other side of Canada from me! and we don't see each other very much which makes me sad. She is one of my best friends and always there for me when I need her. I love her family too. Her kids are SO cute and so sweet and I hate that they are not here growing up with my kids so I am thankful for the time we do get together. Her husband is also really great. He is a rock. He loves her and takes care of her and I love him for that. Together they pastor a church and watching them go thru the ups and downs of leadership and being front runners has been at times hard and at times so exciting like when their church bought their building and watching their church grow. I have cried with her and rejoiced with her. She means the world to me.

As kids I adored her. I wanted to be just like her............we wore the same clothes and played with the same friends....... I have so many good memories of us together living on the North Shore.......from exploring under the streets on Grouse Mountain and building forts with our dad to camping trips to church functions to picking gum under the pews at church while our mom was in a meeting and we were left to "explore" the church by ourselves and when caught with our mouths full of ABC gum saying "it's ok mom we prayed over it first!" to baptizing each other in the bathtub to climbing trees to riding our bikes forever to playing "office" with Louise and having to have me tag along with her cuz mom made her!! until she was 13 and I was 11 and then things changed a bit and it wasn't until we were entering adulthood that our bond was enforced again. Now I would say that our friendship is stronger than ever and I am so thankful to have her and love her just so very much!

so please go and say hi to Shash today and wish her a happy birthday!!

Great post Lala. See, I wasn't the only one who picked gum. Blech!
May you and Shashi grow to be two little old sisters taking care of eachother in a double wide (or beach front condo, take your pick), drinking tea with your grand daughters, and great grand daughters.

Great Tribute Lala, I have come to know that your sister is a very special and strong women, and I am so thankful that God sent them to live on our street for the time they did. She is an inspiration. At times I really wish I would have had a sibling to have so many of the great memories that you are able to cherish so close to your heart. Thanks

You're making me cry. Stop it!

Actually, just got back from Tammie's where her and I spent all evening talking about Abba. She promised that if Lori goes, she'll go, so pray!!! Hard! God is working, drawing His daughters in to His heart.

I didn't know you and Shash were sisters! What a sweet and kind post that was. I can relate my sister too lives far away. I miss her terribly and sharing our daily lives together. We both blog too though and it helps keep us in the loop with what is going on with each other.

Isn't it great that you grow into friendship as you grow older? Thank goodness!!

It is hard to be separated from family, but it sounds like it doesn't keep the two of you apart where it counts.
