Jingle while you work......

Is it me, or does everyone hear a jingle when you say something???? I can't be alone?!! please tell me I am not alone!!!

Tonight at the dinner table.........dinner was compliments to Mary-Ellen who brought me lunch and dinner today!! what a blessing good friends are!! I am surrounded by them! they also bought our tent trailer from us!....... I was eating my yummy lasagna (food always tastes better when you haven't slaved over it and watch it get eaten in 4.5 seconds)........and I always eat my cheese last and all of a sudden a jingle popped into my head and I looked at Hailey and said

"Hailey?..... when you eat your lasagna do you eat the cheese last? do you suck it very slowly or crunch it very fast? it's the gooey cheesy coated lasagna, now tell me when I ask.....when you eat your lasagna do you eat the cheese last?"................do you know that jingle??? do you remember what it was for?

This happens to me a lot!

Sometimes it makes me wonder, as it did tonight, is it because we grew up in the generation of too much tv? watching all 12 channels........if you had a really good pair of bunny ears on top of your tv and you had to change the channel........with your fingers on the tv.............oohh hands to mouth g-a-s-p.......I know I had to do it!! we fought over who had to change the channel..funny how the dad's never wanted to do it but now try to pry that remote out of their fingers, not too much guess work is needed it is all about getting off the couch!!........

I remember family tv nights watching the 'good old boys" and "Kit" and dreaming of living on the prairie or on the love boat........and yes I thought Gopher was cute! dreaming of making some instant gadget from McGavier, to acting out escapes like Mr.T........my childhood is intertwined with memories of great family tv nights and "safe" commercials.....reading "Dick and Jane" readers and streets were play grounds not war zones..........just makes me realize how much society has changed.........and if it is for the better??? certainly the convienence factor is better but have we forgotten basics? like having "family" nights that don't involve "cover your eyes/ears girls this commercial is X-rated!!!"..............

Could be the paint fumes getting to me?? oh well I will just jingle while I work.....

side note: I got my dog back he was basically right across the street all night and the lady was planning on keeping him! she figured since he was so dirty and had no collar that he had no home.........I was trying not to sound too annoyed when I said "no.....he has an ear infection and is NOT supposed to be bathed right now!! and because he just got snipped!!" she didn't get it........oh well what can you do? I am grateful that he was safe and is home now where he belongs............

I got the girls room all painted and the window/door trims and am working on the kitchen trims now and then am going to pack up all the girls winter clothes!! I am exhausted but not as stressed as yesterday, thank goodness I couldn't take much more of that!

only 2 more sleeps till J comes home!

Yeah, I remember the Smarties song. I have been known, on occasion, to make up little jingles for things in my head, so you are not alone (is that a good thing??;-)

Whenever I pop open a can of Dr. Pepper I hear David Naughton singing...I'm a pepper, she's a pepper...not sure who remembers that one. Also, another big one for me is..Choo-choo Charlie was an engineer, choo-choo Charlie was his name we hear..he had an engine....yada yada

You have to wonder about the songs in your head if thats all you hear thats fine, but if you start talking to yourself be careful. One day your talking to yourself the next your day you're downtown eating out of dumpsters and arguing with imaginary freinds.

From what your kids are saying you're pretty close to that.
