I will praise You in the storm

(I am SO glad that school is almost over and holidays are almost here!!! I have an author's tea in Emily's class today where they read the stories they have written. Only 2 more weeks of school.............yehaw!!! )

I have to go get ready to go so I can't post much today but I wanted to post the lyrics to this song that I have been listening to A LOT lately and everytime I do, I am moved to tears. It makes me think of where I have been in my life where I am and where I am going.......and knowing that God is always with me!!

It is by Casting Crowns......I got the cd as a present from my cousin Rena!

"I will praise You in the storm"

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen"
and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

Chorus:
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

That's one of my favorites on that CD too! Fellow traffic jammers must get a kick out of watching me wide mouth bassing to it in my car...sometimes with tears and sometimes without.

I love that song. It lifts me up when I fall into my depression.

Thanks for your LONG comment -- I love LONG comments. And I totally agree on what you said. I never want to instill a hell-fire FEAR in them about anything. My parents did that and I rebelled.

Instead I talk to them about what GOD SAYS AND WANTS FOR THEM. They know there is love, grace, forgiveness from HIM... NOT JUST THE HELL-FIRE. So anyway...

What a great post! The storms are sometimes the hardest time to feel thankful and sense that God is there. I've been through some of those, and I know He really is there. And above all the noise of the storm He actually hears my whisper.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

That song is SUCH a comfort to me too. It reminds me that God has everything under control and He has my best interests at heart!
