quick post - well sort of

yesterday we got the entrance way and Emily's room completed!!! yaaa it looks so good and fresh and CLEAN!!! well for now anyways!! I had to climb a 20' ladder to get to the top of the entrance way!! both Colin and Dana (our new friends) are afraid of heights so I did the deed! there were only a few moments of wobbling that made my heart jump half way up my throat. It really looks great.

The house is getting more finished looking by the day. Emily's room looks really good too, Colin did that room all by himself! what a blessing it was for me for them to come out and do this! While I was up on the ladder, Dana started washing ink, felt and finger prints off the rest of my walls. It reminded me of when I was a teen and my oldest sister would tell me she had just finished washing her walls and I used to tease her and call her anal......ya I didn't get it!! now I do.....sorry Tam......the kids are relentless with their hand prints and I even have an anonymous boogie monster that keeps leaving evidence of it's existence on my walls!!! reminds me of the Family Circus comic strips......"not me" "I dunno"......

I was going to try to paint the kitchen by myself today but I don't know if my shoulders can handle it!!! that and I have Hailey's 6th birthday party here Friday morning before school. We invited all the girls from her K-class, yup I have momentarily lapses of good sense!! all for the love of my girl's!!! and I invited the mom's to stay as well......yup that was a bigger lapse I think! cuz since we painted our play room on Monday.....I have yet to put everything back from the centre of the room where I gracefully shoved all their junk...I mean treasures!!! I have laundry to put away and you know the normal chaos that is my life!! I kind of live by the seat of my pants and really rely on imposed schedules to keep me straight!!! sometimes it overwhelmes me but strangely enough when I am not running ragged.....I am bored out of my trees!! can anyone relate to this??? I can't be the only one can I???

I am also leaving for the weekend on Friday, I am going to my church's ladies retreat!! got to love these weekends.....no kids.....no cooking.....no cleaning (that one makes me want to jump for joy) I am pretty excited about it.............can you tell????

and the big news of the day....................my oldest started her period yesterday.....yup she has become a woman!!! totally bizarre.....wierd feeling to have a daughter old enough for all this!! sorry for too much info for any male lurkers out there!! but this is my blog and my life and I get to post what I want too....ya for me!! I will post more about my feelings on it later, cuz I don't really know how I feel about it, she seemed ok with it and asked if she needed to take a note to tell her teacher!! I was like um no I don't think so! just make sure you take your little purse with you to the bathroom to save from any embarrassing moments at school.....Shash had a few of those!! ...

ok well as I mentioned up above I gots lots to do and clock is ever ticking.....I forgot about this, told Shash on the phone and was like oh ya forgot to blog about it.....yeesh....where is my brain....must be the paint fumes!!! hahaha

Isn't it great to get something accomplished? I feel that way rarely now when it comes to the house!
And yikes for the period starting. I think that day is in my future very soon for Anna. How old is your daughter?

Hey, the painting sounds awesome, can't wait to do that here too. I don't know how I will feel when my girls get to that stage...

Oh my God...congrats on your little one becoming a women. Scary to think that you will have to pick up pads for her every month. Wow, I can totally wait for this with my daughter. I haven't even considered how this would make me feel.

I love to paint - I love the smell, the mess and the transformation. Becoming a woman is something to celebrate! Take her out for dinner or make her favaorite at home but do celebrate. My girls are 28 and 18years old and they still remember how we celebrated their first period.
