We have had a couple exchange students growing up. And my mom & dad has had one when we were all gone from the house. Even my brother had one last year. And I'm pushing 38 so you know how long ago that was. But we still keep in touch with 2 of them on a regular basis. One came to visit with his mom two summers ago during our summer family gathering.
There is a lot of time that needs to be given to adjustment. In both cases yours and theirs. But it is a very wonderful thing to do.
Good luck and have fun learning things.
